A poem lovely as a book, I am ensnared with its hook. Never judge one by the cover - In its depth I hide and hover. Intriguing, introspective core Indulges me, yet I want more. With twists and turns, it’s quite a tease Till climax shock puts me at ease. My eloquent yet silent friend, I’m in it to the very end. How much I hate to say goodbye - Book Bonded Buddies, you and I! I am just now realizing you are sponsor of this contest. when you mention that you would be delighted if we follow this example, do you mean in form and syllable count? (I take it we can choose whatever we want as the theme, whether it be book, tree or something completely different) I love your contest idea!!

Thank you Andrea and yes, the theme is yours. I do like the simplicity of 8 syllable Trees, but if you choose to fit into more or less, and it flows and it counts, then that’s be it. After all a good poem remains a good poem:) Yet in judging, the one closer to the original beat may beat the rest. Rise to the challenge. I imagine if I chose two or three or more syllable theme word that doesn’t fit into the first line, I’d rather not use it directly and would strive for 8 syllable count to depict my theme and stick with flow of Trees. Too many words, hope it’s clear, ask away :) M.

Love the rhythm and rhyme of this piece. Like the way en-snar-ed make the second line read so smoothly. Looking to enter your latest contest; this is a great example to follow. Hope I can do as well.

Beautifully rhyming and pleasingly sweet ! All couplets are equally arresting, but I love-the following lines the most- "Never judge one by the cover - In its depth I hide and hover."....
