Notes About The Poem

written for the contest " body ails yet spirit soars" sponsored by unseeking seeker.

i was inspired by how last few days , rain triggered pain in my bones, which is something i experience often when it rains, yet still i find hope through nature, rain or shine...

Body ails yet spirit soars

Freezing in the midst of hostile ice monsoon
triggering aching woes beneath blood and bones,
I search for a quilt woven in sanguine rune
silken feathers of clementine and gold tones-
body ails, yet spirit soars, sings to the moon,
beyond clouds obscured in kohl sleets of hailstones
whilst rhapsodies of nature serve light to calm-
scattered scars in the air, like cosmic mint balm

But as skies swing heavy, and coldness seeps in,
hope breathes from sapphire dews of rain waltzing free,
for when mists of nature envelopes my skin,
I find traces of peace from roots of my tree
amidst the piercing pain pulsating within-
fields of eagle ferns, the tranquilizing key,
sets a serene scene with silver sequined lines,
sprinkling zests of zen from inner sun that shines.

Sometimes mind gets blanketed in confusion,
sinking behind steel walls sculpted in distress
although shadowed stars swirl like an illusion,
faith is the thread for thin needles to redress
and restitch fragmented frames of vague vision.
So let suppressed agony slowly digress
in pearl pages of cathartic tomorrows-
now my ink abandons yesterday's sorrows.

Another poem that makes a "Wow" escape from me ! What I say in simple language, you say in highly figurative and metaphorical language. Your choice of words are exceptional. "So let suppressed agony slowly digress in pearl pages of cathartic tomorrows- now my ink abandons yesterday's sorrows.". What a fantastic close to the poem. Into my FAVE.

Dear Ink, Your writing is excellent, and it sticks out from the throng. Your ability to depict the sorrow of rainy days is exceptional. The abundance of wonderful alliterative utterances that enrich your work enchants me. Your writing prowess never fails to wow me. You weaved your poem perfectly in Ottava Rima, crafting a great challenge. It is apparent that your spirit soars within your writing, and it is due to your remarkable ability to depict such profound sentiments. BOL in the contest

You weaved your theme beautifully in this difficult to execute form, Ink. Splendid emotions you convey--indeed your spirit soars, my friend. Not easy to write such a long Ottava Rima. So let suppressed agony slowly digress in pearl pages of cathartic tomorrows- now my ink abandons yesterday's sorrows--inspiring, uplifting ending!

Every line of that last verse was vivid as I read. My favorite sentence is, "Sometimes mind gets blanketed in confusion, sinking behind steel walls sculpted in distress although shadowed stars swirl like an illusion, faith is the thread for thin needles to redress and restitch fragmented frames of vague vision. Another FAV for my list.
