Boats
I am lost.
Winter has brought the boats in
To wait at shore.
They are like ghosts.
I feel their emptiness
And you are not here.
The pale sky offers no warmth
To the lifeless, waning vessels.
They creak and moan
With winter's pain,
They are lost
And you are not here.
A cage of grief,
Like wood and salty steel
Holds me still.
There is no door.
I am like the boats on the water,
I am lost
And you are not here.
