BLUE HOLE
Large marine vertical cavern
or sink-hole as we learn
open to ocean-surface:
Great marvel no less,
nearly, roughly circular
in particular
appearing in darkish blue
amazing hue!
Spectacular Blue Hole in oceanic periphery.
Region composed of carbonate bedrock
as limestone, dolomite, gypsum in stalk
or coral reef,
that’s in brief
revealed from geological history
typically located in regions coastal
influenced by water tidal
marine, fresh, or mixed chemistry.
Dissolution of soluble rocks in chain
through flowing river and rain
created this territory,
an ancient story.
Through time glaciers melted raising sea level.
Some holes to be submerged: Inevitable.
Owing to depth blue holes went darkish
prettifying, adorning as if to garnish
framing dramatic concept surround
flashing light blue shallow around
with natural distinct outline
on ocean surface as seen.
High transparency of deep water stands,
entwined with white carbonate sand,
catching intense blue part of sun spectrum
sending dark blue reflection at random.
Blue Hole: Astounding charm
Natural formation not a mystery.
