Blondie and Dagwood

Blondie is forever young.
Rosy cheeks and lips bee-stung.
Her nicely waved hair is perfection.
One wonders at the odd connection

To lazy Dagwood so unkempt,
To comb his hair, makes no attempt.
Truth told he would rather stay in bed.
Pay no heed to what Mr.Dithers said.

This poem is so charming and a reminder of how much fun it was to read about this funny couple in the 'funny pages' as we called them. I loved it Joyce and am happy to see it in First place my friend. Congratulations! : ) xxoo

Joyce, this delightful Clerihew is a first-place winner! Loved the lines about bee-stung lips and poor Mr. Dithers. It does seem odd that this couple remains together through all their differences. You will receive a Valentine prize by mail! Hugs, Carolyn
