I wrote this poem for a contest that Andrea held 11/2024 for a new style to me (not limerick).  However, the style was said not to be political and mine could definitely be read as that, so I didn’t submit it out of respect. But, what comes to the mind, comes. Heh. Here's a quote for this poem:

“Be careful what you wish for, you may receive it.” W. W. Jacobs (author of Monkey’s Paw)

Blizzard is coming
Hailstorm is drumming
How we longed to be wetter.
We’ve been in a drought
We prayed the calm out
Now comes turbulent weather.

Batten the hatches
Prepare the caches
White rage threatens our safety.
Will eating snow bursts
Appease our mad thirst?
Freezing adds to the crazy.

Great idea there, i.e., eating snow bursts. I'll have to try it this winter. I hear it's going to be a doozy over most of the old USA. Smiles, Gershon

I’m sure it will be plenty cold where I am in Idaho, thanks for visiting!

Greay job at humor. Though I would say we have been in drought for many years and nothing surprises me any more.

Thank you! Yes, depending on how you look at drought I would certainly agree!
