To feel contrast in space and time We ride life’s Ferris wheel Feelings gross, mundane and sublime With each in turn, we deal Early years, driven by instinct Mission’s to seize and size Selfish heart, not yet by love inked Self-blocks offered surprise Deadened to the voice of conscience Each day we agitate Until we reclaim innocence We’re blown away by fate Fleeting is joy, poignant our pain Where’s bliss throb permanent Bound head to foot by desire’s chain Our doom seems imminent Yet if we choose, we may be free In this very instant Head-heart meld and with love agree Lower mind decadent Abiding in thought rested calm In but not of the world Poised thus, life holds for us no qualm Bliss magnetism unfurled Boundless bliss here within our reach When lamp of love is lit This is a path, no one can teach Truth revealed, bit by bit Ego urge shorn, we yet live on As vibrant soul presence We become then thus, the twice born Sparkling luminescence There is no way, save our yearning To entwine self with God Bliss pulsations keep on burning By His touch, overawed 24-January-2022
