Notes About The Poem

Blind Date

Blind Date

Lonely for so long now
so excited I can't wait!
My best friend had set me up
with someone on a date.

I showed up a little early
to pick up this date of mine.
I'd seen her face before
in a flick called Frankenstein.

She said she liked my suit and tie
I said I had a tailor.
She got a run in her panty hose
and started cussing like a sailor.

Arriving at the restaurant
where my best friend I spied.
He was standing in a corner
where he laughed so hard he cried.

She ordered the whole menu
she maxed out my credit card.
Suddenly I realized
life alone ain't quite so hard.

Finally I slipped away
and split out the back door.
I got myself a new best friend
and I don't date no more.

Sometimes the blind date thing is a risk not worth taking !!! Perhaps a date should come with references !!! lol !! Cute poem, Edwin !!

I think personally it's always been my best friends that should have been made to give references lol. Though I admit it wouldn't have mattered lol God bless!!

lol! Hilarious! hahaha...Read it 3x. Loved it so much. Uh, hope it's not all true, Ed. A perfect 7! Hey, can you spin some more like this? You're really very good at this! You might notice me and Jan almost always comment on the same poets, it's because we love to have some love to balance the all more often than not serious or sad poetry whish is normal. The humorous ones are the dessert! lol! PS. I'm ok, Ed, thanks! Hope you are, really. :) Kim
