Blind Date

This Friday I’ve got a blind date
With Miss Information
And I just can’t wait.
Of course as a red blooded American male
I sincerely hope I’ll get in her pants
If not her bed,
But given her name
I won’t be making any assumptions
‘Till I see her up close and personal.
Given her name
I also expect to hear lots of talk of Covid 19
Bats, the wet market, social distancing
Safe and effective vaccines and all that.
Then before dessert
I hope we make it past BLM’s glorious
Post Floyd Summer of Love
The terrifying January 6th insurrection
And nonexistent border crisis of 2021-24,
As I like to enjoy something sweet
Without a sour taste in my mouth.
In fact, I hope we make it through the night
Without any of that garbage,
But given her name I’m not holding my breath.
So why am I even taking Miss Information out?
Because although inside I am no comparison,
Inside I am also now inspired
And will proudly step up and say, “Hi,
I am Charlie”, when I pick her up,
And so gladly reach across the aisle
And dine with a chick who may end up a dude
In the name of open and friendly dialogue.
After all that is what will Make America Great Again.
