Black Swans Strike Again
black swans
supposedly didn’t exist
until their discovery
In Down Under
flew in the
fossilized faces
& myopic eyes
of the Old World
more recently
the starry-eyed agents
of the New World Order
(mis)led us to believe
we reached the end of history
(after the USSR’s collapse
& the Big Bang of
the World Wide Web)
Taleb finally set us straight
when he begat his
black swan theory
history:
a pyromaniacal parade of
improbable high-impact
events
and the black swans strike
again & again & again…
coldly indestructible
alligators
abruptly
lunging out of
the murky miasma
ensnaring us
with
primordially
efficient jaws
pulling us
downward
into
a
dark
desolate
pond of
pandemonium
pAnDeMoNiUm
PaN!dE*mOn$Ium
