Dear Line: As indicated in some of my comments below, it is about 50/50 over the years but I'll keep on chomping on the peas since my wife introduced them as a family tradition (and an old southern tradition - she is from Louisiana) Best to you - Bob

Thank you Charlie and a Happy, Healthy New Year to you and yours as well. As Indicated in some of my replies below, I've been eating them for years with a modicum of good luck but I keep on swallowing them and maybe I'll hit the bit lotto one day!

Thanks, S.O. for considering my entry in your contest worthy of a win! Eating black-eyed peas on New Years Day is an old southern tradition which was introduced to this Hoosier by my wife (deceased) who was from Louisiana. Supposed to bring good luck for the ensuing year. Hasn't brought me a great deal of luck in the past but I'll keep on eating them - ha! Happy New Year!

That has yet to work for me, but I'll not give up the trying because I love black-eyed peas! I like your monoku and wish you all the best in the contest and all else. I hope your 2019 is blessing filled with abundant joy, health, enthusiasm and prosperity - did I cover it all? If not, I intended to do so and that counts, right? Poetry hugs ... CayCay
