Bitter Sweet Intoxication

In these dark hours the cold seems to chill to the bone. For some reason, incomprehensible to waking mind There is no warmth in the world, no warmth in the soul The recollection that we stand alone is an artificial one Rather than fall into the abyss and relinquish all light Stare head on into the darkness and make your stand The lights return shall be a most triumphant one indeed Due to the sacrifice that was made in the beginning The sweet shall taste all the sweeter, after tasting the bitter
