Bitter Sweet Intoxication
In these dark hours the cold seems to chill to the bone.
For some reason, incomprehensible to waking mind
There is no warmth in the world, no warmth in the soul
The recollection that we stand alone is an artificial one
Rather than fall into the abyss and relinquish all light
Stare head on into the darkness and make your stand
The lights return shall be a most triumphant one indeed
Due to the sacrifice that was made in the beginning
The sweet shall taste all the sweeter, after tasting the bitter
