Bitter Stranger
Old, alone, and morbidly obese,
Sitting under the shade,
Of one lonesome palm tree
Near the shower on a beach,
As you scowl on demand,
At the happy passerbys washing off their sand,
In staring at you, never did we lock eyes,
But while you watched the others,
I watched you wondering why,
Why so angry, so bitter?
As young women rinsed off,
Was it jealous and envy that made you scoff?
On such a pretty day what could provoke you so,
To waist the time with a grimace,
Guess I'll never know.
