Bitter Stranger

Old, alone, and morbidly obese, Sitting under the shade, Of one lonesome palm tree Near the shower on a beach, As you scowl on demand, At the happy passerbys washing off their sand, In staring at you, never did we lock eyes, But while you watched the others, I watched you wondering why, Why so angry, so bitter? As young women rinsed off, Was it jealous and envy that made you scoff? On such a pretty day what could provoke you so, To waist the time with a grimace, Guess I'll never know.

Fat and unhappy. Mystery solved. You never signified the gender so is she jealous or is his sad that he'll never be the dream of one of those young girls.

It was a woman. I could clearly observe that something was bothering her. Jealousy? Maybe. I guess I'll never know.
