Beyond the Stars

The celestial stars awaken the night
Blessing the world with a silver glow
The pale white moon whispers into the light
Casting a layer of light below

A rush of cool air greets my face
Like a rocket soaring through the sky
I drift beyond the clouds of space
Where galaxies and endless wonders lie

I move past the clouds above
Entering a universe I've never known
Surrounded by millions of stars filled with love
In a world where I am not alone

The planets dance like fishes in a cosmic sea
The colors painting the endless night
The universe opens its arms to me
A masterpiece burning with infinite light

This is a wonderful entry Vihana. I love the personification of the celestial world. Sight and touch are covered in your poem. It has a spiritual feel too which is lovely. The similes enhance how physically and emotionally your senses are engaged. Thank you for taking part I the contest. :-D
