Betwixt

she was a faerie
an elfin
a creature of the land

living in harmony
with the universe
the forest

in her element
her nesting ground
a magical being
transient

reluctantly
crossing over
dragged down
falling off the edge

a misadjusted weight
drowning
gasping for air

a fish out of water
who didn’t fit in
or belong
in our realm
