Bettering Myself
I used to be silent,
walking this earth with no voice,
unable to speak for myself....
to myself....
I felt useless....
I felt like I was the one,
who couldn't do anything right.
I was the one who refused to fight,
I used to try with all my might,
to keep things at peace....
to be your strength,
your joy,
your smile....
I thrived on your love and touch....
I spent nights silently weeping,
because i loved you so much,
but you betrayed me in the worst way....
and you didn't have the guts to say....
you were sorry for it all,
you just did your thing,
and watch everything burn....
Well now it's your turn.
I used to walk in your shadow,
being the best thing to happen to you,
or so, you said....
but now, it's time for you to watch me rise....
rise from the ashes of your dreams,
rise from the depths of nothingness,
rise up to become a better person.
Watch as I fly right past you,
as I take my life back,
as I regain my family,
as I get back my friends,
watch as I right every wrong....
You had your chance....
