Ouch! There is nothing more tragic in this world than the loss of hope. Beautiful blending of images - "grave of innocence," "crumbled pretense." This is impactful in its masterfully written brevity. A fav for me and a master class in imagery! Congratulations on your win!

Great depth, Michelle. I detect maybe a theme in some of your serious writes (crumbled pretense)? Loved your opening line. Warmly ~ John
