Benedict Donald

The White House harbors an orange traitor
Benedict Donald, science-hater
He never met a fact
He didn't try to whack
This prick puts the 'dick' in Dictator!

The obtuse ogre of petty poses
Has imposed on the City of Roses
His troops of lackeys
In unmarked khakis
Masking free speech with tear gas and hoses

Anyone who does not tongue-kiss his shoes
Is fired, or conspired to be 'Fake News'
He has little use
For reason, or truth
Come November, this deadbeat pays his dues!

7/22/20

(the 'City of Roses' refers to Portland, OR, where I live)

A very frightening scenario in world politics at present and Trump is always at the forefront. Blessings my friend, Jennifer.

Yes, frightening is the word for it, I am hoping when we vote in November we will pick an intelligent, capable, compassionate person...

very witty, Michelle!! Sharp and clever. One little thing though. Until this year I never understood what he meant by "fake news" but today I am seeing it. (still don't support him though)

He defines 'fake news' as anything that doesn't kiss his a$$ - thanks for the comment-

Love the words and passion in this one! It astonishes me Americans do not realise Trump is following Hitler's playbook by replacing experts with toadies, sending the military to a metropolis to quell induced protests and then arresting the "dissidents" - who subsequently disappear, so be careful! Aloha! Rico

I was inspired by your limericks, Rico, you are the master, I am merely the student...

Honestly I wish I had no reason to write it, but after seeing what is happening in MY city - that is plenty personal, and I couldn't let it go without expressing my views, glad you enjoyed it though!

Cute title there, Michelle!... It's always been of interest to me that 'Bendict,' which means 'Speak good,' of course, (as in 'benediction'), has come to mean 'traitor' in America. Eggs benedict, anyone?! lol. Thanks, Gershon

I actually can't take credit for that, I saw it on another website I visit, but liked it so much I borrowed it! At least we have Benedict Cumberbatch now (don't know if you're familiar with him though)
