Beneath the warm and tranquil surface, lurks a monster, a huge shark relentless and fierce; cruel, he swims in circles waiting to attack, an innocent, oblivious, poet gliding. A real poet-eater with great razor sharp words, beware of this savage destroyer of poets; he is heartless and brutal maybe a bull shark, because he likes warmth and attacks poems. He is a coward who lurks beneath the surface, if he should come close while you are a-drifting by; just give him a sharp wack on his ugly big snout, send him fleeing- a coward always runs away. ______________________________ December 15, 2018 Poetry/Verse/Beneath the Tranquil Copyright Protected, ID 18-1094-613-01 All Rights Reserved. CayCay thank you for your kind words, I love poetry soup and I believe that there are more good people in the soup than bad, the bad can be spotted easily and have a way of disappearing, one just has to wait for their fall from grace and departure ~

Love this creative poem my dear friend. Poetry's massive oceans all have saints and monsters. I try to avoid the monsters and sincerely praise the kind-hearted, artistic and inspiring saints that pen to our delights such wondrously creative , magnificently beautiful and rich inspiring verse! A fav, this inspiring piece you have gifted.

Now I'm terrified..."Poet Eaters"; I will retire for the night with one eye open and my ears stretched to hear windows and doors being opened; beneath my bed in easy reach...my old baseball bat; if the monster comes...he's going to have one huge headache!

The poet-eaters never have attacked me. My poetry is too mediocre, I guess. They are green eyed monsters, and I would be flattered, but would not pay them any mind.
