Being Kind, the Andaree

On malice toward some, and charity gone; Hate words hurled, like ruined sauvignon. Some, feeling like bitter rind, have an axe to grind. Can’t we be kind? Would it be out of style, or mind? Stretch a hand, be not unkind; Let not the sun rise, nor there be dawn, on malice toward some, and charity gone.

I found this form to be a challenge because of it needing a powerful first line that repeats in the end, but you have managed to make it look easy Kim. I think your entry shines! #7

Auden says: "For poetry makes nothing happen: it survives in the valley of its making". As poets we can expect nothing to change but ourselves. It is the poetry that remains - and only the poetry! My very best regards to you, kim! Your friend always. :-) john

The problem is so many people thrive on drama! While I would love to see a world of kindness, it's not something we will see in this life. Enjoyed your poem Kim
