Being Committed
Being Committed
Written: by Tom Wright
1998
Lord, how can I a difference make?
There are so many souls at stake.
For Lord, you see that I'm but one,
I'd work from dawn to setting sun.
There’s so many things to see and do,
I've no time left to work for you.
When I am older, maybe then,
But now there's pleasure in this sin.
Involvement sure, at some later date,
But now I'm young and it must wait.
The great commission I understand,
But me go Lord, to a foreign land?
No friends or family there to see,
Lord, it would be like you and me!
You say that we a majority make,
To think of all the souls at stake.
You say I'm blind and cannot see?
That some dear soul had time for me.
I'd never thought of it that way,
As with tear filled eyes I knelt to pray.
A committed life will be my solemn vow,
I'll work for You, Lord, show me how.
For now it's clear what one can do,
For sins atonement, it was just you.
