This poem was written with the 'HexSonnetta' format developed by Andrea Dietrich in mind.

======================== Behind your closet door, a monster, you decide, has moved the toys aside to snooze upon the floor. So near you'll hear him snore you fear, from there inside. So I, this very night, when certain you have been kissed on your cherry chin and loved with all my might, in just the gentle light the moon and stars let in, will hold you safe and tight until your dreams begin... ========================

You are a pro at this form, Lycia. Such beauty in each line. You are SERIOUSLY talented, woman! :) My dream would be to have a form I've come up with. I've tried my hand at two, and Craig sponsored a contest in one of them....but.....I need to fine tune it. :) Great write.

Thank you, Eileen! This poem is one of several written for a childrens anthology my mother is putting together and like the others, has illustratrations Ive done to go along with it. I just got a new scanner and plan to upload them all to their respective poems as soon as I get them all scanned. I think youll really like them...

Totally! I wrote another one that just took 2nd in the contest introducing the format itself blah, blah, blah but anyway, you might like it. It's called 'would that I had turned', check it out and then perhaps you will try one in this style yourself, no?

It is really cool, flows so nicely and ties all the words so well through the verse.
