Behind Closed Eyes

Once sheltered from the
     Beaming rays of dawn,
Closed eyelids view the
     Multi-colored hues.
First seen, bright aqua
     Blended with chartreuse,
Then divine peach which
     Crimson fades into.
A green like no earthly
     Color I have seen
Lingers and I am
     Consumed with delight,
Feeling that glorious
     Shade penetrate
Into my body and
     Soul’s inner sight.

A spark of pink soon
     Appears to ignite
And morphs into a fuchsia
     Floral bloom. . .
A peaceful shade
     To meditate upon.
Relax in Nature’s fresh air
     In warm sun
Should you desire to bathe
     In rainbow’s light.
Each color vibrates
     To a musical note
And with them all, my
     Joyous soul takes flight.

Note: I wrote this poem after bathing in the sun on our deck with
my eyes closed as these enchanted colors appeared.

Love this, Connie. Beautifully expressed. My husband is color blind, but I'll bet he could join you in this exercise!

"A green like no earthly color i've seen," This marvelous poem seems, really is, other dimensional. I know that in contemplation - when the soul leaves the body - the colors, especially the cobalt blue, circled by delicate fringe, is indescribable. Love, Dave

I JUST LOVE THIS, Connie. I know something similar has happened to me a few times. It's so cool when it happens. You described it well.

When I was a kid, I used to lie down in fields of wild flowers looking up at the sky and the clouds floating by on a bright sunny day. Then I would close my eyes and experience exactly what you have written here. Thank you for rekindling one of the most beautiful experiences I know, dear Connie.

This is not only lovely, but something that I can relate to, Connie. I not only see the colours, but I am able to promp what colours I want! The difference between us is that it never crossed my mind to write about it, and you did! #7 Warm regards ... paul

Thank you very much Paul for the lovely comment. I too am able to summon colors. I work with colors, being an Aura Photographer, and each color has its own meaning. They can change your mood, make you hungry, calm your senses, excite etc. But you probably are already aware of this. Advertisers have this knowledge and use it to the hilt! Colors do inspire me. Cheers, Connie

Well in all fairness, I did write this in the summer and just found it to post. However it was pretty hot today 81 degrees. So sorry to rub it in....didn't think about that John. I actually prefer cooler weather, about 68 degrees is perfect. It gets that cool at night. I will send you some of our warm weather...thanks, Connie
