Behind a Closed Door
Shut the door behind me
Shun out the chaotic world
My room is my savior
The only safe haven
Where I can be me
A colorful world surrounds my walls
Comforting me from the hatred outside
Blocking the chaos that slowly seeps through
Trying to get me to fall into despair
Music calms the soul
To drive away the dark
A lullaby for the ears
To drive out the hate
A house full of chaos and dissonance
The only salvation I have here
Lies within my room
That keeps me sane.
They don't know
How fragile I can be
Like a china doll
I can break to pieces.
Don't they know the tears I shed
When they break me down
To the lowest point
When I just can't take it.
Can't they see I deserve my solitude
Just wanting to be left alone
Give me my fair share of silence
So my brain can speak to me.
Don't they understand
The dreams that I have planned
If they just learn to hold thy tongue
Change so I can find a shard of happiness
In a house that's so full of dissonance
If they can't learn to accept the facts
I'll just do things my own way
Won't let them bring me down
They'll never see me cry.
So I'll stand my ground
Staying where I am
Being true to me
Don't care what they say
Stupidity is over-rated
Anger can kiss it
Sadness can just go away
Screaming you need to shut it.
When I'm behind my door
Lost in my own world
There's no need for negativity
Let myself be lost in my imagination
Where my room is my salvation.
