Beginning To Rust

I cannot worry about 2082, or even 2032,
I cannot figure out in 2021 what I can do
To make the changes this old world needs
How to overcome humanity’s foul deeds.
I’d like to make the world a better place,
But we’re already fouling outer space.
I certainly cannot change the climate here,
Or do what’s necessary to save reindeer.
I am thinking the next generation must, 
‘Cause my generation is beginning to rust.

I have great faith in the younger generation, and I believe they will tackle and solve many of the world's problems we allowed to fester.

You know, I sometimes think my part is so insignificant, but then if you add all of those small parts together they make a tremendous whole, and sometimes, a substantial difference. Hoping my poem will get more of us involved in making the world a better place!
