Before Snowfall
Sweet November came quickly
leaving colourful October behind
from patches of green
now adorned with golden hues
some leaves still clung to branches
but most had blown away
the leaves then would race
up and down the street
back and forth as if in a hurry
only to gather in a corner
and pile up on each other
some had speed
others skipped slowly
undecided which direction to go
they just wanted to finish the race.
before the coming snow.
