Bedtime Monsters

Edward looked under the bed and sighed. 'Under there is where a monster could hide'. He looked in the wardrobe and shook his head, 'this is worse than under the bed!' He looked in the toy chest and held back the tears 'a monster could hide in here for years!' He looked in the toy cupboard and let out a growl. 'There's plenty of room for a monster to prowl!' He heard feet on the stairs and the door opened wide, he needed somewhere quick to hide! Mummys are good at keeping monster away, so he jumped in the toy chest and decided to stay. Edward the monster preferred under the bed, but tonight he'd sleep in the toy chest instead.

Brings back memories of when my brother and I would race to bed. The last one had to go turn off the light. So scary back then. My brother kept losing so carried a flashlight to bed... Of course, it also allowed him to read under the covers... later.

I like this humorous tale of monsters. mine was an alligator (really the shadow of a tree branch) that I was sure was going to eat me.

Shelly, this poem is really cute. I hope there's no monster hiding under my bed. They give me the willies. Your last name is the same as my maiden name. My parents are Dorcas and David Foreman.I was born in Toronto, Canada
