Because We Can
How fragile is life,
Easily broken, twisted, or maimed.
So much easier to destroy,
Than to create.
Perhaps that is why we kill.
It is easier to slay than forgive,
Especially when one is wronged.
But how can one who has not been wronged,
Adhere to the creed of death?
Are we truly those who can judge,
A life’s worth?
Perhaps it is our arrogance,
That allows us to do so.
Why must we destroy lives?
Perhaps, because we can.
