Notes About The Poem

Beautiful Mammoth Mountain Memories

Drinking from clear, gurgling streams,
catching frogs, unfolding dreams,
without iPhones, watches or clocks,
sitting high on granite rocks -
my memory is unwinding
a young boy exploring and finding
pumice and obsidian flakes
in the mountains over Mammoth Lakes.

Those wonderful childhood memories are valuable treasures to hold. Very nostalgic write, David. Mammoth Lakes. I hope those DNA mammoth cloned mice aren't going to lead to those wooly beasts returning from extinction!

Thanks Lin - haha, yeah, I saw a picture of those. I only had 8 lines, so I got into the rocks, but i feel sorry I missed the beautiful flora and fauna of the area.
