Beautiful Lie

Beautiful Lie

You said you loved me,
You looked me in the eye.
It was a beautiful moment,
It was a beautiful lie.

You said you would hold me,
Til the day i died.
I know you didn't mean it,
It was a beautiful lie.

I knew it wasn't true.
I wanted the moment to survive.
It was a great time in my life.
The time of the beautiful lie.

It was something that i needed,
I felt i was alive.
I needed to believe in you.
I needed the beautiful lie.

I knew it was a fantasy,
But the fantasy was mine.
No one can ever take away,
My beautiful lie.

Oh how we feed off of those beautiful lies hoping they would sustain us! This is a truthful and connectable poem, for we all have been there before.
