Beautiful In You
No handsome looks of movie stars
were ever mine to show
Those superficial privileges
I wanted then to know
I wanted so to know the feel
of beauty’s silly pride
But then to face reality
the mirror never lied
And then one day you came along
to change my lonely fate
And loved the me of what I am
before it was too late
You taught me of the light of life,
of what I really cared
And how to feel about the world
if I really dared
Amazing how, as I think back,
you made my wish come true
Though not a movie star at all
I’m beautiful in you
