Be Blind and Listen

Tho first impressions are what you make
(you judge their dress, even their attitude)
Do not let those linger, for heaven’s sake
Or most times they will be misunderstood.

But how do you know, will they be your friend
Is this when a new friendship will begin?
When they open their mouth, will the search end?
For you must feel the soul that lies within…

Be blind and listen, and then make your choice
Is this someone who can brighten your day?
Listen for their meaning, not just their voice
If it’s filled with Hate, you must walk away.

We are what we speak, we are what we write
Do not cast a gloom, instead cast a light!
