They saw me in the pet store window
They looked friendly enough
I wiggled and waggled and showed them my stuff
Let’s get that puppy! The man said

I wanted a different kind said the wife
The husband looked sad.
Okay, she agreed.
I walked into their home behind them

An older dog was there dressed as a chicken
Another dog was wearing an alligator costume
Run! Said one
Be afraid, very afraid, said the other.
