BAIT
Shun the bait while there is time
Not all moments are made to rhyme
There is greatness in rising after fall
But, sometimes, better to shun the call
Hands of temptation sway too often
And your heart, it tends to soften
But, you don't always eat the food
Even if the taste is good
See your path, open your eyes
Being careful is being wise
Trust not, even the golden path
For, some golds are filled with wrath
Sometimes it's better to walk slow
For you to see the coming blow
For, deep pitfalls are often unseen
And sweet persuasions are in between
Babel, bait blank... poetry contest
3rd place
