Baby Robins Fly the Nest

~We Are Family ~

Baby robins fly the nest
  Young fish swim away
Baby bucks soon sprout antlers
  No reason to stay...

Human parents are spoiled
  Our babies do not stray
They stick around for years
~ A price we gladly pay

Mine are gone and I am grateful; they are busy and I am home enjoying my hobbies.

Hi Gershon, I enjoyed this poem, It's hard to let go of a child that you have brought into the world and raised for 18 years. We only hinder them if we don't allow to go into the world and make there own decisions and living. Thanks G ~ Debbie

Hard to let go; harder to keep them around. Middle ground is hard to find with our kids. Thanks for the insightful comment, my friend. Peace, Gershon

'They stick around for years ~ A price we gladly pay'..... rather 'a boon we long for' . As parents we now suffer from 'empty nest' syndrome. Gershon, 'we are a family'!!
