Awakenings

Every night is still the same, a shadow comes and calls my name. I need to face the hurt inside, but the child within runs to hide. How do I bring this child back out, and make her cry,and scream, and shout? She has to surface,be brave and strong, so I can tell her the shadow is gone. But what would it be like I ask, to be awoken from the past? Would she see things more clearly then or to the past eternally pinned?
