Awakening
Cry of the baby
Wanting to wet the lips..
Dried out mother, has nothing for a sip!
Neither milk nor water..
Dried out mother has nothing to offer!
Drills where pounded
On the river bed for months…
Pure water was sucked out to add poison to it..
Sealed in the bottle, shipped out as coke…
Alas…
Dried out mother has nothing to offer…
Neither milk nor water!
Hollowed eyes & hunched backs
Are the curse of that soil..
empty stomach and poor living
had only water for free to drink
until it
got sold by some rich…
to the coke companies...
that become their witch!
poor farmer, prayed for rain!
Night long rituals!
Demon sacrifices!
Donkey marriages!
What not to try more?
Folded hands & broken knees..
Chapped skin & dried out eyes..
What not to try more?
Where can they dig more?
The river bed dried out, nothing to soak
The poor mother has no money to buy coke…
Crying baby,
Wanting to wet lips!
Neither milk nor water
Dried out mother has nothing to offer!
Greedy mean world gave her time till dawn!
To find the water source
Orelse
Her baby will be gone!!!!!!!!!!!
