Awaiting Daybreak
Half past midnight, I have nothing to do
Though I swore I needed something
And that something might be you
I'm merely lying in my bed
Restless, with nothing to do
Then came 1 AM, still I cannot rise
Though my stomach's loudly growling
And it's screaming, "gimme food!"
I soothed my angry, churning tummy
Yet still, I cannot move
Then arrived 2 AM, I'm sprawled just like a log
While mother nature's calling
And she's yearning for a drizzle
I just ignored her urgent call
I'm frozen like a log
Nearing is 3 AM, I'm crafting something new
Despite this witching hour
And I feel like such a mess
I started penning this strange verse
I'm creating something new
