Notes About The Poem

Author's Notes: This poem, "Autumn's Promise," is written in Blank Verse format and is set in "unrhymed" Iambic Pentameter (IP). This poems touches on the theme of love and its compelling aspect on a couple as they walk together kissing and caressing one another and pledging their love again to each other in a very special moment during the autumn season. Autumn's Promise

Autumn’s Promise

Autumn’s promise of love compels us true,
As we walk in this magical moment.
This change of seasons reflects Nature’s will,
As the trees shed their leaves freely and the 
Afternoon wind’s protean emotions— 
Touch ever gently our bodies with their 
Cool-warm breath as we hug ‘n kiss deeply,
In this passionate moment of true love.
‘Tis this very moment we cry out our 
Pledge to love one another forever!
