Autumns Pause

Scorched leaves drift to earth
Gently in the evening sun
Silence permeates

Hi Skat, I am an artist, herbalist, and writer/poet. I have been writing poems and stories forever. I love Haiku as a form of expression of what I see, hear, feel, and smell. Thank you for your warm welcome.

That is a good idea Laura, I once enjoyed writing the haiku, then I was told I was doing them all wrong. So, now I just enjoy the haiku of others. Well I better go see if you have another to share. LINDA

There are lots of rules, but if you just stick to the basic's: First line 5 syllables, second line 7 syllables, third line 5 syllables. And these rules: -Nature inspired, with seasonal references/hints -Two separate ideas/thoughts/focus -Use the five senses -Show, don't tell. Show something true about the actual moment Poetry doesn't have to be perfect, it's an art and therefore will always be subjective.
