Autumn's Paradise
I sit as I enjoy the bright rays
from the sun allowing them
to caress my olive colored face
absorbing it's refreshing warmth
as it makes me glow
I lay back into this meadow filled
with many sights, sounds, and smells
of early Autumn
The colors still vibrant yet more oranges,
burnt reds, and browns blend
into the scenery
The feel tickles my touch adding to the
assault upon my senses which only
adds to this ineffable beauty
Ahhh it feels as if I found paradise......
I wish I could take it all inside
myself and be happy forever yet
knowing it's evanescent
so as I take note I write it in pencil with
eraser in hand......
I inhale the scents
Breathe in......
Breathe out......
Admiring the beauty then close my eyes
listening to the mellifluous sounds
while I feel the opulent meadow
Knowing it but a matter of time before
the next season takes it I know
what I must do
I rise turning to take one last look
at this paradise I hold my head up
face tilted towards the last rays
of the sun
But already it's warmth grew chilly
And I smile back at this beauty
It was Autumn's paradise
Leaving it as I found it
in all it's glory.......
