Autumn's Fire

She dons her scarlet gown again
Still radiant from last year’s ball
She knows it will attract the men
As it glitters in hues of fall

A golden scarf ignites the flame
Of campfires in the painted hills
On this dance floor lovers came
To celebrate the autumn chills

Ever so gracefully she twirls
In ballet slippers of citrine
Her long, amber hair unfurls
Blanketing the last leaves of green

She genuflects to the north wind
When winter invites her to dance
Knowing soon he will rescind
His flirtatious bid for romance
