Autumn's Defiance
Autumn arrives with golden edges.
Its leaves, falling slowing
cast dancing shadows upon the ground.
The sky, a temporary tapestry
A kolidescope
of orange, red, yellow, green and blue.
God, the Artist of Artists,
orchestrates a temporary symphoney.
Evening arrives.
An intermission.
The leaves lay
Immobile.
Until morning
When the breeze brings back life
and the dancing begins
Mocking the determination
of Winter.
