‘Tis the feathered ballet of the fall
that graces the sky for one and all
Ornate earthly joy, bird swoops convey
on a colourful autumnal day.
Singing birdsong as gentle winds blow
flocks of warblers fly by to and fro
The leaves on trees wave in feisty praise
for the joy bestowed on their last days.
In twilight when the night is still young
nightingales come with songs to be sung
These birds fly away after the fall
to a warmer place where life’s a ball.
Cometh the day withered leaves die
softly, softly birds sing goodbye
Morosely dancing in airspace
splendour of autumnal winged grace.
