Autumn Royal
Amber carpets made of leaves on the ground
that gracefully crashed down like falling stars.
How I enjoy listening to the sound
of the dropping rain and the whistling trees,
or the swishing wind and my boiling tea.
Ginger flames springing out of the fireplace
give a crimson color on my warmed face.
It is that time of the year once again-
Pumpkin lamps, witches and dreadful ghosts
come to life like a horror movie scene.
Cinnamon sticks, sweaters and woolen hats
are our saviours in the chilly nights.
Burnt-umber toasts, saffron buns and red wine
are a most tempting autumn treat to dine.
