Autumn Quintain
Autumn Quintain
When Theros’* bright sunlit days are diminished,
The harvest moon is set low in the evening sky,
Summer’s warm fragrant petalled time then finished
And on unknown instincts migrating birds rely
As to far distant nests in warmer lands they fly.
The Season in russet threaded garment dressed,
Rainbow jewels of Autumn shine on frost kissed grass,
In deep burrows Nature prepares for Winter’s rest
And playful spirits toss the leaves, falling fast
As long shadowed days from Summer to Winter pass.
Theros – Minor Goddess - personification of Summer.
