Autumn Leaves

Autumn leaves
	splash across the earth
	with colors from Monet’s palette
	hastened by the chilling winds

Autumn leaves
	litter paths through woods
	redolent of musky-sweet smells
	accented by sugar-cone crystals

Autumn leaves
	shake and scatter day dreams
	posing insatiable predilection
	evoking cuddling and coddling

Autumn leaves
	memories of those we’ve lost
	those we’ve yet to meet
	fall within our hearts

Alice, you operate on many different levels. I like to think of the leaves as layers of chocolate and pistachio. This helps me deal with the clean up and raking. You take it more deeply, which I do appreciate and enjoy. Smiles!!

This is a poem that fulfills the senses of autumn, sight, smell, and texture. I felt transported to a woods full of leaves that crunch to my tread. Thank you for this journey.
