Autumn Leaves
The warm sand under the feet, now a
memory,
Ice Cream trucks are gone, and the
barbecue grills are cold,
Summer reluctantly says, I really can't
stay,
As cold winds signal, Autumn is on the
way.
Autumn's leaves, a tapestry we see year
after year.
Dancing gracefully through the crisp,
cool air,
In shades of amber, orange, and gold,
Each leaf, a sad tale of a story untold.
Leaves of different shapes and sizes
break and fall delicately without a
sound,
Gently leaving a multicoloured sheet
that covers the ground,
Wandering through parks and streets,
A musical crunch beneath the feet.
This colourful season reminds us of its
beauty, a palette warm, earthy colours,
a dazzling sight,
It fills the soul with peace and a craving
for a mug of hot chocolate on a chilly
Autumn night,
Autumn leaves are a sign to embrace
change,
And like the fallen leaves, we too can
let go of nagging woes from our past,
So, let’s welcome the season as it
changes, as its rustic beauty sadly
won’t last.
