Autumn Leaves

Autumn Leaves Autumn Leaves Bare hands swaying in the breeze Grainy sand of weeds Plentiful Dusting off The heaviness Weighing down Broken ends At the end of the rope Pulling away From dark places Releasing the burden To the light in the window And the open door An escape from the inescapable A sudden ruffle in the shadows It could be sad Without a rock to hide behind Dimming the eyes The deafening of forgetting Take me home To the lesser known Warmth at the end of the road Marckincia Jean Free verse 03/19/20
