Autumn I Sigh
The magic of Autumn wraps my heart in a bow
A miracle of nature to reap where it go
On wing swept currents I want to fly in the sky
Or dance to melodies of falls glorious surround
With uplifted spirits I feel deeply earth's sigh
And fling myself down to play with leaves on the ground
Along the shore of a rivers’ mighty deep edge
Colors swirl alive in orange, yellow and red
I gaze transfixed as I tiptoe its’ grassy ledge
Where the trout and the salmon have made their last bed
In the fall I hear whispers of my mortal end
As leaves descend softly in their last sighing breath
I skip among colors my soul will soon transcend
Into a web of decay that ends with our death
